Since the word ‘Coronavirus’ entered our lives, there have been many unanswerable questions. With a vaccine in sight, there are now more answers. ‘When and how will I be eligible for a vaccine’ and ‘will home carers be eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine?’. Although things are challenging now, we’re one step closer to beating this pandemic.
Supporting our workers through Covid-19
Supporting our workers has always been a top priority. But this has become more important since the beginning of the pandemic.
Our care team – who are key workers – have been incredible. We are amazed by the optimism and positivity they have brought to our clients, as well as their usual dedication during what has been a tough time. Not only have they risen to the challenge, they’ve excelled.
From increasing PPE supplies to supplying hand gel and soap, we’ve taken every possible precaution to ensure a safe working environment. Now the vaccine is here, things are really beginning to look up. That’s why we’re delighted (as everyone is) to finally have a path to vaccination is sight.
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, our dedicated and compassionate carers have been working throughout to give our clients great service.
From accompanying clients to their appointments to spreading Christmas cheer, no job is ever too big for our Hamill carers – and the pandemic has proved just that. With the arrival of the vaccine, we’re starting to be able to imagine a future without Covid.
A path to the vaccine
With three UK-approved vaccines making their way to GP practices and vaccination centres across Scotland, we’re making it a top priority to ensure each of our staff takes up their chance to be vaccinated against the disease. All domestic carers are on the top priority list and will be receiving the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in the early months of 2021.
With three UK-approved vaccines being produced currently and weekly vaccination numbers on the rise, we feel very positive about the pathway out of this pandemic. We can’t wait for the vaccine to be rolled out en masse, but we’re particularly thrilled to be able to say that our team have either received their first vaccine or have booked appointments to receive their first dose of the Coronavirus vaccine.
We’re still keeping safe
We’ll continue to take every measure possible to keep our clients and staff safe, including the use of full PPE and focusing on hand hygiene.
Our commitment to our staff and clients remains the same. We are as focused on keeping everyone safe as we were last March. It’s great to know that we have science on our side.
