Our Nurse Led Service

Josie, is our lead Complex Care Nurse, and specialises in the management of adults with medically complex needs. Josie and her team possess substantial expertise in supporting clients who require specialist care including advanced respiratory care, including non-invasive ventilation and tracheostomy management.

Our proactive approach helps people live well, safely and independently at home, with care tailored to their individual needs. By providing consistent, high-quality clinical support, we give clients the confidence to remain in familiar surroundings while ensuring families have complete peace of mind.

The service Hamill Homecare provides is second to none. In my opinion, this company should be used as a model for all care companies.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is complex care?

Complex care at home refers to the delivery of advanced healthcare services for individuals with serious, long-term, or multiple health conditions that require ongoing clinical oversight and interventions—typically beyond what standard Homecare offers. It involves clinical tasks usually provided in hospital or nursing settings, delivered at home by qualified professionals.

Complex care supports children or adults with congenital conditions requiring ventilator support, individuals discharged from hospital with high medical needs, people with progressive neurological conditions, cancer patients requiring specialist care, and people with serious disabilities and multiple comorbidities.

Complex care involves advanced medical interventions and requires specialist training and clinical oversight. It includes procedures like ventilation care, PEG feeding, specialist medication management, and continuous monitoring that require qualified healthcare professionals.

All our complex care staff are specially trained and regularly assessed by our in-house Complex Care Nurse, Josie. They receive comprehensive training in the specific procedures and interventions required for each client’s needs.

Complex care services can be provided for as long as they are required, whether that’s short-term during recovery or long-term for ongoing conditions.

Depending on your assessed needs, funding may be available through Self-Directed Support, NHS continuing healthcare, or local authority support. We can help guide you through the funding process.

Your care plan documents all aspects of your complex care needs in detail, including specific procedures, medication requirements, emergency protocols, and the skills required by your care team. It’s reviewed annually or when your needs change.
