No, the initial assessment is free and completely without obligation.
Dr Louise Hamill/I will come to meet you and your family at your home for the initial assessment where we will discuss your needs and wishes to ensure the care package is personalised to you and delivers on your expectations. If you choose Hamill Homecare as your provider this assessment will form the basis for your care package/plan and once you and your family are happy we can arrange for the service to start at your convenience.
You decide what and how much care you want and when you want it to be delivered. We will work with you to tailor a package of care and if the NHS or local authority has carried out an assessment we will incorporate their care plan into what we do for you.
We offer a range of services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In order to deliver quality care, we deliver services in a minimum of one hour blocks.

Yes, there is funding help in many cases. To find out if you are eligible for funding you may need to have an assessment carried out by a social worker or health professional. More information on funding is available in our funding section
Yes. There are two options either “waking” or a “sleepover” service. A waking service is where the carer remains awake and on call throughout the duration of the night. The waking service is charged at a set hourly rate. A sleepover service is where the carer will sleep in the spare room or on a sofa bed but can be woken at any time when needed. The sleepover service is charged at a fixed nightly rate covering from 10pm-7am.
Yes. We can work together with you and your family to continually review your requirements and to increase or decrease the care package as appropriate.
We will raise an invoice for our services on a weekly basis and all payments should be made via direct debit.
All our carers and nurses are professional and enthusiastic with at least 3 years’ experience and are personally selected by our managing director, Dr Louise Hamill.
Hamill Homecare is registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide nursing care and support services to adults and older people with physical disabilities and mental health issues living in their own homes. The Care inspectorate carries out regular inspections and may ask your opinion of our services.
We have comprehensive employee and public liability insurance which covers the work our nurses and carers do In your home.
If your nurse/carer has not turned up, please call the office as soon as you can and we will find out why and if necessary, we will send a replacement nurse/carer as soon as we can.
Yes, our carers can accompany you out walking, on the bus or in a taxi to social events or appointments such as the hairdresser, shopping trips or family parties.
